IMPORTANT NOTE:

 Vector file is the SOURCE FILE of your logo - its in .eps, .ai or in .psd format - 

Its is scale-able to any size - unlike .jpg and png which lose quality when resized - you can change the colors of you logo using vector file - add/ remove elements/backgrounds - without the vector file you will have to have your logo recreated if you ever wish to change any bit of it or to use it on banners/flyers/business cards etc
